I gave these bonsai something to think about

I really wasn’t happy with the progress of these bonsai.

The figs had only a few branches that were leggy and in the wrong positions.

The corky bark elm is a nice tree but the branches were not balanced. The top branches were the thickest, far too thick to every be correctly balanced. I’ve tried for years to get it to back bud with little success.

Ultimately I decided to bite the bullet and start again with the branches of these trees.

Only time will tell if it was the correct decision.
